 Where can I get Amethyst Geodes for Minecraft?

It's easiest to go underground and start mining in Minecraft to find an Amethyst Geode. However, you don't need to go too deep. Amethyst geodes are available at Y-level 64 or Y-level 30. Geodes aren't difficult to spot either as they're huge and frequently cracked, which means that you may be able to see the glowing light from a distance.

Keep an eye out for smooth basalt when mining. This is the dark outer layer of an Amethyst Geode. Break through this first layer to reveal calcite and then proceed to locate the amethyst. Amethyst Shards are released from the growing amethyst crystals known as Amethyst Clusters. These clusters are found in Amethyst Geodes. If you mine amethyst clusters, you'll receive Minecraft Amethyst shards in return. They can be used to make a few particular items.

It is essential to only mine fully grown ones, as the smaller Minecraft Amethyst Buds will not drop any Amethyst Shards. There are three stages of growth before an Amethyst Bud becomes an Amethyst Cluster. Check out the picture above to distinguish them!

Fully formed Amethyst Clusters that are fully formed drop two Minecraft Amethyst Shards if broken by any other tool and four when mined with the aid of a pickaxe. The amount of Amethyst Shards that drop can be increased with the Fortune enchantment. If you want to collect the cluster by itself you can use a pickaxe equipped with the Silk Touch enchantment.

Minecraft Amethyst Clusters and Buds grow on Budding Amethyst blocks. They can be easily identified by the cross-shaped designs on their sides. Budding Amethyst is not possible to mine, but you can return to find new-spawned Amethyst Buds. The second amethyst solid block is known as the "Block of Amethyst" and can only be mined using the pickaxe. It is purely decorative, and cannot grow Amethyst Buds. Block of Amethyst: As mentioned before, this is purely decorative. You can create a Block of Amethyst with four Amethyst Shards.
